The City of East Peoria welcomes the softball players, coaches and fans at EastSide Centre for the National Softball Association Class B National Tournament, July 25-31. Between 175 and 200 teams will be competing. Good luck to all teams!

The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at East Peoria City Hall, 100 S. Main St., from 1-5 p.m. Aug. 4. Appointments are not necessary. Those donating blood must have vital signs within normal limits and feel well the day of the donation. For more information, call 698-4715.

Parents can make sure car seats are properly installed in vehicles during a free child car seat check from 1-4 p.m. Aug. 4 at the East Peoria Fire Department Central Station, 201 W. Washington St.

Free blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol and spirometry screenings will be available from the Methodist Wellmobile at EastSide Centre, 1 Eastside Drive, from 8-10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 9. Appointments are not necessary, but fasting is required for two of the tests, two hours for blood glucose and 12 hours for cholesterol. For more information, call Methodist Medical Center, 672-4963.
