Streetscape proposals sought

The City of East Peoria is seeking interested parties to develop a comprehensive streetscape plan for the Downtown East Peoria Development Area. Proposals are due by 5 p.m. March 19, 2010. City seeking development proposals

The City of East Peoria seeks interested developers for an approximately 2-acre redevelopment site, owned by the city and located along the Illinois River across from downtown Peoria. The city's vision for the area is the development of a use that complements the existing nearby uses to this site which include the Embassy Suites Hotel and attached 40,000-square-foot conference center, Granite City and Logan's Roadhouse. Free health screenings Feb. 8

Free blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol and spirometry screenings will be available from the Methodist Wellmobile at EastSide Centre, 1 Eastside Drive, from 7-10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8. Appointments are not necessary, but fasting is required for two of the tests, two hours for blood glucose and 12 hours for cholesterol. For more information, call Methodist Medical Center, 672-4963.

EPCHS-area parking permits being updated

The East Peoria Police Department is updating the parking permits issued to residents living in the area of East Peoria Community High School. To protect residents' privacy, the permits will have an identification number and will not list specific addresses. Those who currently have an orange parking permit will need to go to the East Peoria Police Department, 201 W. Washington St., within the next 60 days to receive an updated permit, free of charge. Mayor hosting February coffee shop meetings

Mayor Dave Mingus will be available to discuss issues with residents on Wednesdays during Mornings with the Mayor. This event provides residents the opportunity to talk informally with Mayor Mingus from 7-8 a.m. at Eysal's Coffee Roasters, 400 E. Washington St., on Feb. 3, Feb. 10, Feb. 17 and Feb. 24.
