  • Parade starts at 5:45 p.m.
  • Roads along the parade route closed at 5:30 p.m. SHARP 
  • Starts at intersection of East Washington Street and Dolans Lane

Parade of Lights, East Peoria, ILThe Festival of Lights annual Parade of Lights covers three miles of Washington Street starting on one side of the city and ending just past downtown. The parade features floats shaped entirely from LED lights, including Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, the chopper motorcycle, a 70-foot long float of the famous Clydesdale horse team pulling a delivery wagon, Frosty the Snowman, the starship Enterprise illuminated with 48,000 lights, and the 95-foot-long smoke-spewing China dragon.

The parade will travel to the intersection of Washington and Main streets (where Beck's Florist and Hardee's are located). The parade will turn right onto Main Street and travel to the intersection of Main and Springfield Road (location of CVS Pharmacy). The parade will turn right onto Springfield Road and the floats will be parked on Springfield Road between Taylor Street and Main Street.



Handicapped parking areas will be along Taylor Street from East Peoria Autobody to Central Junior High School and in a city lot across from Fondulac District Library in downtown East Peoria. Vehicles must have a handicapped sticker, license plate or dash card. Overnight parking in disabled lots is permitted as long as vehicles are properly tagged. A limited number of handicapped parking areas are available.

Parade Road Closures

The parade route will be closed to traffic at 5:30 p.m. sharp. At this time, all traffic eastbound on East Washington Street will be diverted at Illini Drive and Farmdale Road on the eastern edge of the parade route and on West Washington at Columbia Street. Both Washington Street exits and the Camp Street exit on Interstate 74 will also be closed to traffic during the parade.
