Carnival coming to East Peoria

The annual East Peoria Carnival featuring rides, games and food will occur May 22-26 in the parking lot of the Festival Building, 2200 E. Washington St.

EP Police, Buffalo Wild Wings team up for Special Olympics

East Peoria Police officers are participating in the Tip-A-Cop Fundraising Night for Special Olympics Illinois at Buffalo Wild Wings, 833 W. Camp St., from 5-8 p.m. May 20. When customers present a special coupon,during the event, Buffalo Wild Wings will donate 15 percent of all pre-taxed food sales to Special Olympics Illinois.

Farmer's market vendors sought

Vendors are being sought for the East Peoria Farmer's Market, which will be held weekly on Fridays from 3 until 6 p.m. June 21 until Sept. 27. Vendors must sell Midwest-grown produce and regionally produced products.

Clean Sweep set for May 18

East Peoria’s Clean Sweep, a beautification and cleanup project, will occur May 18 and volunteers can still register. During the Clean Sweep, volunteers will pick up trash in high-traffic areas.

Mayor's Prayer Breakfast June 7

Remarks by East Peoria Mayor Dave Mingus will be among those featured at the East Peoria Chamber of Commerce's 33rd Annual Mayor's Prayer Breakfast, at 7 a.m. June 7 at the Embassy Suites Riverfront Conference Center. Keynote speaker will be Jean Driscoll, who has held the Boston Marathon's women's wheelchair division fastest time since 1990 and has set five course records. Rachel West Kramer will perform musical selections.

Have coffee with the mayor in May

Mayor Dave Mingus will be available to discuss issues with residents on Wednesdays during Mornings with the Mayor. This event provides residents the opportunity to talk informally with Mayor Mingus from 7-8 a.m. at Eysal's Coffee Roasters, 400 E. Washington St., on May 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29.
