Have coffee and discussion with the mayor

Mayor Dave Mingus will be available to discuss issues with residents on Wednesdays during Mornings with the Mayor. This event provides residents the opportunity to talk informally with Mayor Mingus from 7-8 a.m. at Eysal's Coffee Roasters, 400 E. Washington St., on Feb. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29.

Input sought on left turn signals

Research is being conducted through the Civil Engineering and Construction Department at Bradley University to learn about how drivers respond to various types of left turn traffic signals.  The goal is to gather information that may help people in the future by making intersections safer. Information is being gathered in an online survey that should take about five minutes to complete.

Free health screenings Feb. 13 at EastSide

Free blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol and spirometry screenings will be available from the Methodist Wellmobile at EastSide Centre, 1 Eastside Drive, from 8-11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13. Appointments are not necessary, but fasting is required for two of the tests, two hours for blood glucose and 12 hours for cholesterol. For more information, call Methodist Medical Center, 672-4963.

Applications available for those needing modest home repairs

Applications are being accepted from lower income East Peoria residents needing modest home repairs for the Rebuilding Together program.  This program covers the cost for reasonable repairs to qualified, owner-occupied units. To qualify, the property must need modest repairs, the owner must have insurance coverage and be of lower income with no other immediate means to complete the repairs. This program is cost-free.

E-Pay now available for water bills, garbage toters

  The City of East Peoria is now accepting electronic payments for water/sewer utility bills and garbage toters! Payments can be made using MasterCard or Visa credit cards. No additional fees are charged for paying online. See the links in the "Quick Links" section on the right side of this page for complete details.

Free car seat checks March 7

Parents can make sure car seats are properly installed in vehicles during a free child car seat check from 1-4 p.m. March 7 at the East Peoria Fire Department's Central Fire Station, 201 W. Washington St.
