Proposals sought for data cabling and installation

The City of East Peoria is accepting proposals for data cabling and installation in the New City Hall building. Proposals must be submitted at City Hall, 100 S. Main St., East Peoria, Illinois no later than 5 p.m. April 27, 2015.

Farmers Market vendors sought

Vendor applications are available for the 2015 East Peoria Farmers Market, which will occur on Fridays from 3 until 6 p.m. June 5 through Sept. 25. The farmers market will be located in The Levee District.

Intermittent lane closures on McClugage Bridge next week

From IDOT: Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures on westbound U.S. 150 at the McClugage Bridge over the Illinois River from Monday, April 6 through Friday, April 10. The lane closures will begin at 8:30 a.m. each day and are necessary for crews to complete a routine inspection of the bridge.

It's time to start thinking about cleaning out the garage, shed and basement - Spring Clean-Up Week will occur May 4-8. This special collection of junk and brush is for East Peorians whose garbage is collected by the City of East Peoria.

Streets listed to receive 2015 maintenance work

The preliminary list of streets to receive maintenance work in 2015 has been prepared by the Public Works Department. Streets are chosen on a condition rating. This year $2,500,000 worth of maintenance work will be done to city streets as compared to the average $1,200,000 worth.

Open burning season April 1-30

Open burning is allowed in East Peoria during the month of April. Burning can occur only during daylight hours on non-windy days, and only dry leaves and other landscape waste can be burned.

No home appliance lasts forever, including carbon monoxide alarms which beep when wearing out. The East Peoria Fire Department is encouraging residents to check their CO alarms as part of the national Beat the Beep campaign.
