Nominations accepted for garden "bright spots"
Residents and businesses who have eye-appealing gardens and/or landscaping can be nominated for the East Peoria Beautification Commission's Paul Peterson Bright Spot Award. The award will be presented on an ongoing basis and recipientswill receive a sign to place in their yard for a month announcing they are the recipient of a Bright Spot award. Farmer's Market open every Friday
Celebrate Fresh Friday at the East Peoria Farmer's Market, located in The Levee District retail area. The vendors will be set up on the pedestrian promenade, near Gordmans. The market will be open from 3 until 6 p.m. every Friday through Sept. 30. Farmer's Market details
IDOT announces lane closures on Murray Baker Bridge
From IDOT: Intermittent lane closures on Interstate 74 at the Murray Baker Bridge over the Illinois River will occur from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 9 and Sunday, July 10. The lane closures are necessary for bridge washing to be completed.
Free car seat checks set for July 6
