FOLEPI River Trail Classic

Joseph Zeller of Morton and Emily Gustafson of East Peoria beat out the competition to win of the Festival of Lights’ FOLEPI River Trail Classic, a four-mile run on the River Trail of Illinois which occurred Nov. 30. There were 433 entrants in this year’s race.

Zeller had a time of 20:01 minutes, earning the overall top spot for the. Gustafson ran the course in 24:12 minutes earning her the top spot for the women.

Age group winners were:

  • Age 1-10: Women – first place, Ashlyn Seth of Metamora; second place, Cheryl Flynn of Hanna City; third place, Grace Tapp of Eureka; Men – first place, Johah Deppe of Waverly, Iowa; second place, Matthew Johnson of Springfield; third place, Alexander Hayes of St. Charles, Mo.
  • Age 11-14: Women – first place, Hadley Dornon of Peoria; second place, Piper Belden of Greenwood, Ind.; third place, Elizabeth Edgecomb of Ladd; Men – first place, Alec Buob of Chillicothe; second place, Brandon Plate of Tulsa, Okla.; third place, Landon Powell of Normal.
  • Age 15-19: Women – first place, Ally Watson of East Peoria; second place, Heather Jones of East Peoria; third place, Alyssa Klunk of East Peoria; Men – first place, Matthew Church of East Peoria; second place, Cody Giebelhausen of East Peoria; third place, Michael Church of East Peoria.
  • Age 20-24: Women – first place, Hannah Magnuson of Normal; second place, Jessica Mellican of Washington.; third place, Emily Coon of Morton; Men – first place, Noah Neace of Dunlap; second place, Hugh Gill of Washington; third place, Brant Watson of East Peoria.
  • Age 25-29: Women – first place, Sara Anderson of Lima, Ohio.; second place, Monica Sharick of East Peoria; third place, Monica Hinz of Morton; Men – first place, David Thomas of Peoria; second place, Andy Bloom of Pekin; third place, Johnny Reel of Congerville.
  • Age 30-34: Women – first place, Kristi Melton of Lincoln; second place, Katie Gaston of Peoria; third place, Ricki Alford of Champaign; Men – first place, Jake Norman of Pekin; second place, Jason Young of Chillicothe; third place, Mitchell Hurst of Pekin.
  • Age 35-39: Women – first place, Angie Banister of Peoria; second place, Christy Decker of East Peoria; third place, Kirstin Peters-Whetstone of Chicago; Men – first place, John Blood of Denver, Colo.; second place, Gary Savage Jr. of Bloomington; third place, Jud Swan of East Peoria.
  • Age 40-44: Women – first place, Dahla Conklin of Chillicothe; second place, Kelly Bails of Mahomet; third place, Michelle Fogal of Pekin; Men – first place, Pat Arnold of Metamora; second place, Troy Walcott of Peoria; third place, Mark Episcopo of Peoria.
  • Age 45-49: Women – first place, Jani Daniel of Metamora; second place, Crystal Kyle of Peoria; third place, Diana Barrick of Washington; Men – first place, Jeff Rebholz of Pekin; second place, Kelly McBride of Normal; third place, Joe Briseno of East Peoria.
  • Age 50-54: Women – first place, Mary Milroy of Toulon; second place, Jari Bala of Peoria; third place, Debby Hadsall of Stanford; Men – first place, Patrick Koerner of Bourbonnais; second place, Mark Billings of Elgin; third place, Kevin Burks of Manito.
  • Age 55-59: Women – first place, Patricia Keim of East Peoria; second place, Jean Janes of Lacon; third place, Marysue Baker of West Peoria; Men – first place, Steve Sullivan of Pontiac; second place, Mike Monson of Urbana; third place, Mike Krause of Manito.
  • Age 60-64: Women – first place, Barbara Harte of Ottawa; second place, Barbara House of Lacon; third place, Cindy Friedrich of Havana; Men – first place, Leo Vandervlugt of Chillicothe; second place, Steve Hortega of Ottawa; third place, John Windland of East Peoria.
  • Age 65-69: Women – first place, Kathy Murdoch of East Peoria; Men – first place, John Malson of Germantown Hills; second place, Bill Melton of Lincoln; third place, Randy Mattoon of Normal.
  • Age 70-74: Women – first place, Sandra Theobold of Peoria; Men – first place, John Steele of LaSalle; second place, Mike Rucker of Peoria; third place, Scott Porter of Peoria.
