Grounds Maintenance Workers
The City of East Peoria is looking for qualified landscape and sports field maintenance seasonal help for the 2015 season (April-October). Must have experience or knowledge in landscaping or sports field industry and spent time working in a related field. Responsible for operating equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and utility vehicles. Grounds maintenance including trash and debris removal will be required. Landscape maintenance including pruning, mulching, weeding and maintaining City properties and grounds. Will also do sport field maintenance including edging, sodding, painting, chalking, and raking. Drug screen and valid DL required. Must be able to follow directions and work in a group and follow all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed. Must be willing to work outside in extreme weather including standing or walking for long periods of time. Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Assistant Grounds Manager
The City of East Peoria is looking for an Assistant Grounds Manager. This position is responsible for supervising and participating in the grounds and landscape maintenance for the City under the Tourism and Special Events Department. This person will also assist with the Festival of Lights and other special events as assigned, including snow removal. This individual will be responsible for leading and assisting several small crews of grounds workers and may include after-hours support, evenings, holidays, and weekends. This person will have a working knowledge of the grounds and landscape maintenance of properties, including but not limited to open City parks, sports fields, and properties surrounding public buildings. Candidates must have a working knowledge of seeding, sodding, and maintenance of turf grass, and the planting, cultivating, pruning, and caring for plants, shrubs, and trees, and must be familiar with use of various fertilizers, soil conditioners, herbicides, pest control methods and materials, draining control methods, and irrigation system, including wells, pumps and automatic controls. A candidate must have the ability to schedule and supervise grounds maintenance workers, prepare clear and concise reports and maintain effective communication. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and this person must either have or the ability to obtain a valid turf applicator’s pesticide license. An associate’s degree in horticulture or a related field is preferred. A valid driver's license is required. This is a full-time position with benefits. Pay is $14.00 an hour. Residency within 20 miles of the corporate City limits is required.

Group Exercise Instructors
EastSide Centre is looking for part-time Group Exercise Instructors. No experience is necessary. Candidates must have an outgoing, fun-loving personality, be a team player, have a desire to motivate others through fitness instruction, and have a passion for fitness. Willingness to learn, become certified and be mentored to become the best Group Exercise Instructor possible is a must.
EastSide Centre currently offers group exercise programs in Group Step, Group Power, Turbo Kick, PiYo, Yoga/Pilates, R.I.P.P.E.D., PILOXING, and a SilverSneakers Fitness Program. Individuals already trained and/or certified with experience teaching any of these programs are encouraged to apply.
