Seasonal Concession Staff - EastSide Centre

The City of East Peoria is looking for concession help for the 2017 season (April-October). Concession workers must be responsible, courteous, have good communication skills, accurate cash handling skills, a good work ethic and the ability to work without close supervision. They must follow all food prep and service regulations and guidelines in accordance with the health department, and must obtain a food handling license from the Tazewell County Health Department. Duties include completing weekly inventory sheets, daily restocking of merchandise, and daily cleaning of concession stands, equipment, bathrooms and trash removal. Concession workers are subject to any other related duty as assigned by the concession manager. Drug screening and having a valid driver's license are required. Individuals must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Director of Public Works

East Peoria, IL (pop. 23,402), a dynamic, progressive community with an expansive commercial, retail and office district, seeks candidates to serve as its next Director of Public Works. Located in Tazewell County, East Peoria residents enjoy excellent schools, beautiful parks, a state of the art library and high quality municipal services. The position reports to the City Administrator. The Public Works Department includes five divisions:  Streets, Water, Waste Water, Solid Waste/Recycling, and Vehicle Maintenance. The department has 48 employees and a total budget of $9.8 million. The next Director of Public Works must have high integrity and a demonstrated track record in effective customer service, team building within the department and with other departments, and experience with capital improvement planning. A desire to work collaboratively with other departments on the delivery of city services is critical.

A Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering, public administration or a closely related field, and/or extensive experience in Public Works is desired. Candidates will be expected to have five years increasingly responsible experience in executive level public works in the public sector or in a closely related field. The successful candidate will have strong oral and written skills, budget development and administration experience, and the ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and supervise the operations of the department. Developing relationships with citizens, community organizations and a demonstrated enthusiasm for working closely with elected and appointed officials is also important.

Salary range is $95,000 to $125,000 along with an attractive benefits package. Residency within the City’s corporate limits will be required.

Seasonal Tournament Grounds Crew

The City of East Peoria is looking for seasonal tournament grounds crew members for the 2017 season (April-August). While the position does not require previous knowledge or work experience, it is preferred. These positions are responsible for performing essential grounds maintenance for tournaments at EastSide Centre that involves ensuring the general aesthetics of the facility is attractive and inviting to all participants and attendees. Duties include trash/debris removal and sport field maintenance (edging, sodding, painting, chalking, and raking). Candidates must be able to work weekends including holidays during the summer, as well as early morning hours to late hours. Candidates must be able to follow directions, work in a group and follow all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed. They must be willing to work outside in extreme weather including standing or walking for long periods of time.  Drug screening and a valid driver's license are required.

Grounds Maintenance Workers
The City of East Peoria is looking for qualified landscape and grounds maintenance workers for the 2017 season. These people are responsible for operating equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and utility vehicles on City property and grounds. Duties include trash/debris removal and landscape maintenance (pruning, mulching, weeding, deadheading, digging and dividing, and planting). Experience with plant identification and horticulture skills are preferred. Candidates must be task and project oriented with good organizational and communication skills. They must be able to follow directions and work both individually and in a group, following all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed. Drug screening and a valid driver's license are required.

Police/Fire Telecommunicator

The East Peoria Police Department is looking for a full-time Telecommunicator. This involves shift work including overtime, weekends and holidays. Must perform multiple duties simultaneously under stressful conditions. Requires high level of communication during emergency/non-emergency situations and ability to effectively communicate verbally and to employ selective attention to detail in environment with distractions. Must type accurately at least 35 wpm, be at least 18 and have high school diploma. Physical and drug screening required. This is a union position.

Group Exercise Instructors

EastSide Centre is looking for part-time Group Exercise Instructors. No experience is necessary. Candidates must have an outgoing, fun-loving personality, be a team player, have a desire to motivate others through fitness instruction, and have a passion for fitness. Willingness to learn, become certified and be mentored to become the best Group Exercise Instructor possible is a must.

EastSide Centre currently offers group exercise programs in Group Step, Group Power, Turbo Kick, PiYo, Yoga/Pilates, R.I.P.P.E.D., PILOXING, and a SilverSneakers Fitness Program.  Individuals already trained and/or certified with experience teaching any of these programs are encouraged to apply.
