There is a center turn lane on Springfield Road for Winter Wonderland traffic. Continue along Springfield Road until getting to the large lighted display at the entrance of the display which is at Springfield Road and Par 3 Lane.
ALTERNATE INTERSTATE EXIT FRIDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHTS:
From I-74 take Exit 98-Pinecrest Drive. Proceed along Pinecrest Drive, turn right onto Muller Road, and then turn right onto Springfield Road. The intersections will be marked with signage. The northbound lane of Springfield Road will have two lanes of traffic. Local traffic will use the center of the lane and Winter Wonderland traffic will use the portion closer to the curb.
Winter Wonderland traffic on Friday and Saturday nights can be so heavy that is is not uncommon to have backups throughout East Peoria's downtown area. Officials hope that by promoting the alternate route the traffic congestion will be reduced and traffic will flow more smoothly and quickly.
Tour guides for the Winter Wonderland are available for $30 by advance reservation only. Payment must be made in cash or by check. If paying by check, leave "Pay to the Order Of" blank, and when the guide gets on the bus please enter their name on that line. To make a reservation, call Rick Swan, (309) 256-8299, or the Festival of Lights toll-free information line, 1-855-833-5327.
Planning which night to visit Folepi's Winter Wonderland
We want everyone to have the best possible experience when coming to view the lights in Folepi’s Winter Wonderland, and that includes not having to wait too long in line to see the display. When possible, we encourage people to come to the display on Sunday through Thursday as wait times those nights are usually significantly less than on weekends. Traffic on Friday and Saturday nights is much higher so there will be a line to get in the display. If you can come to the display only on Friday or Saturday night, please keep in mind that there will be a line.
