The City of East Peoria and Illinois Environmental Protection Agency will accept written public comments about the city's sanitary sewer system upgrade project through 5 p.m. Oct. 19. Members of the public and ratepayers can comment on the IEPA Project Summary and Preliminary Environmental Impacts Determination (PEID). The sanitary sewer system upgrade project will repair, replace and modify facilities to address aged and deteriorated infrastructure that is operating beyond its service life while also addressing projected moderate population growth needs. The IEPA Project Summary and PEID are available for review at City Hall as well as online. An open house public hearing about the project occurred Oct. 9.
