Flower sale May 13

A variety of flower and vegetable plants will be available at the East Peoria Beautification Commission's Flower Sale, set for 9 a.m. until noon (earlier if sold out) Saturday, May 13 at the Festival Building, 2200 E. Washington St. The sale is restricted to East Peoria residents only.

Farmers Market vendors sought

Vendors are sought for the 2017 East Peoria Farmers Market, which will run from 3-6 p.m. every Friday June 2-Sept. 22 in The Levee District shopping area. All items must be Midwest grown and regionally produced. Vendors can pay for the entire season or by the week.

Spring Cleanup Week set for May 8-12

Spring Cleanup Week will take place May 8-12. This junk and brush collection is open only to East Peoria residents whose garbage is picked up by the East Peoria Public Works Department.

City Council meetings being shown live on Facebook

Through a partnership with East Side Community Media, the East Peoria City Council meetings are now being shown live using Facebook Live on the City’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/EPCityGovernment, and on ESCM’s page, www.facebook.com/esctv. Learn about alerts through city's texting program

Residents and businesses can stay informed of important city current events through the City of East Peoria Texting Program. Each city department has its own key word, so participants can choose to receive text message alerts from any department, or even all departments, of their choice.

Car seat checks set for May 3

Parents can make sure their child's car seat is correctly installed during the East Peoria Fire Department's monthly free car seat check from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, May 3. The event will occur at the Central Fire Station, 201 W. Washington St.

Service allows residents to report issues to city officials

The city has changed to a web-based service for residents to report items ranging from overhanging trees, storm drain problems, road repairs, private property issues and more. Still known as Access East Peoria, the web-based service provides residents an additional way to connect with city departments.
