NOTICE OF TIME TO FILE NOMINATING PAPERS FOR CITY OF EAST PEORIA OFFICES TUESDAY, APRIL 4, 2023 CONSOLIDATED ELECTION

Notice is hereby given by the City of East Peoria, Illinois that nominating petitions and supporting nomination papers for offices to be elected at the consolidated election to be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, must be filed between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, December 12-19, 2022.

Said documents must be filed at the following location:

Office of the City Clerk
City Hall
401 W. Washington Street
East Peoria, Illinois 61611

Nominating petitions and related nomination papers are available beginning Friday, September 9, 2022 through the end of the filing period.

Nominating petitions and related nomination papers may also be obtained from the City Clerk's office during regular business hours.

Nominating petitions may be circulated beginning Tuesday, September 20, 2022.

The following elected seats will be open for nomination at the Tuesday, April 4, 2023 Consolidated Election:

• Mayor: One (1) position; four-year term
• Commissioner: Four (4) positions; four-year terms

A lottery drawing will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, in the City Council Chambers of the East Peoria Civic Complex, 401 W. Washington Street, East Peoria, Illinois, to determine the order of filing of petitions for the Mayor and City Commissioner positions for the City of East Peoria, Illinois, that were simultaneously filed at 8:00 a.m. on December 12, 2022, for the same position for the Consolidated Election on April 4, 2023. 

 A lottery drawing will also be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, in the City Council Chambers of the East Peoria Civic Complex, 401 W. Washington Street, East Peoria, Illinois, to determine the order of filing of petitions for the Mayor and City Commissioner positions for the City of East Peoria, Illinois, that were filed between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on December 19, 2022, for the same position for the Consolidated Election on April 4, 2023.

The lottery is open to the public. All candidates involved in the lottery will be notified.
