[ARCHIVED] Submit building permit applications online

An online building permit application is now available to assist contractors with construction projects while East Peoria City Hall is closed to the public due to the COVID-19 emergency. The online application is available at The building permit application can be completed in five steps:

  • Complete the online application form.
  • Add the jobsite and property owner information.
  • Add the contractor name and select the necessary type of permit.
  • Upload plans and other required files.
  • Submit the application.

Once approved, the permit will be emailed to the applicant as a PDF attachment. The applicant will need to print the permit and sign it. The signed permit and payment, in the form of a check payable to City of East Peoria, should then be placed in the water bill/permit drop box in the parking lot at East Peoria City Hall, 401 West Washington St. The payment will be processed, and a copy of the receipt, permit and the permit plaque will be sent to the recipient through the regular mail.

Building inspections can be scheduled by calling City Hall, 309-698-4717, or emailing Jaime Cannon at Inspections of new, unoccupied construction and exterior inspections on items including roofs, siding and decks are being performed as usual. Inspectors are currently unable to perform inspections on remodeling projects and those inside an inhabited structure.
