[ARCHIVED] Clinics offer choice of vaccine

Residents can have their choice of the three COVID-19 vaccines at clinics operated by the Tazewell County Health Department.

The Moderna vaccine clinic, for those age 18 and older, will occur at 1800 Broadway, Pekin, from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 6 and Friday, May 7. Walk-ins are welcome. Appointments can be made by calling 309-650-1555. 

The Pfizer vaccine clinic, for those age 16 and older, is at Veterans Memorial Arena, 250 Red Bud Drive, Pekin, from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Thursday, May 6. Walk-ins are welcome.

The Johnson & Johnson one-dose vaccine, for those age 18 and older, is available at the health department's Tremont Campus, 21306 Illinois Route 9, Tremont, from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. This is a drive-through clinic and no appointments are needed.

Vaccine recipients should plan on a 15 to 30 minute observation period following the vaccine. Parents or legal guardians must be on-site for consent of minors' (ages 16 and 17) vaccinations.
