[ARCHIVED] State officials coming to City Hall to reunite residents with lost property

Corner of a $100 bill

Find out if you have any unclaimed property through the Illinois State Treasurer's I-Cash program. Members of State Treasurer Michael Frerich's staff will be at East Peoria City Hall, 401 W. Washington St., from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 26 and Thursday, June 27, to encourage people to search the I-Cash database for unclaimed property and to show the public the program is legitimate.

The Illinois treasurer's office is the custodian of unclaimed property including lost bank accounts, insurance policy proceeds and forgotten safe deposit boxes. Items are surrendered after private entities have tried for at least five years to locate the owners.

The I-Cash database is open to individuals, businesses, non-profits and units of local government.
